Back to work (and better internet connections):

Well, today I'm back in Renton. Digging out of a month's vacation (okay, more like 27 days or so, so don't nit-pick). I'm getting myself back to work in my writing. There will be some stories on the way for my self-publishing, but also stories for literary magazines (some of which I'll have a shot at cold, hard cash from! :D). Tomorrow, I'll be heading out to run some errands, but I at least will try to get to bed earlier than usual.

The story idea I started down on my vacation, is sort of a pretty funny take on good, bad, what they are, and idealism. Telling it from a freelance-writer's POV, makes it all the more enjoyable to writer. Let us all hope it hashes-out.

The First Update: "Oliver Marshall - The Xanadu Days" serial project.

Good evening/morning everybody. As you know, I'm in the process of getting ready to publish the first of a serial of stories through Amazon's "Kindle Direct Publishing" service. This serial is very exciting, and something I rarely see in fiction- stories where the character literally asks "Who am I?"

Now, what better way to explore that, than from an amnesia-stricken person's POV? It's been great to write the first two stories, and with work commencing on the third story, it's a pretty cool concept to work with. I will admit, it is a hard process to write such a story, but in away, it opens itself to a sort of "skies the limit" and makes itself at the same time, a liberating experience.

At this point, I'd like to introduce you to the character of Oliver Marshall. Mister Marshall doesn't quite know who he is, because he obviously lost his memory. How he lost his memory though... That's quite the mystery. Reliant on the help of total strangers who found, took in, and nursed him back to health, he now searches for one of the most taken-for-granted things in our lives... His very self!

First Post!

So, hello interweb, my name is Nikolaus Bautista, and this is my new, dedicated writing blog. Feel free to shoot me comments, questions, et cetera- just don't shoot me (ha ha ha). On that bombshell, that pretty much sums up this post, except for one thing- what I'll be posting. I'll be posting tips, some updates on projects, stuff like that. I'll also be announcing the launches of short stories and books on Amazon's "Kindle Direct Publishing" platform too.
